E.J Baldock Jewellers

Personal Themes

Ed Baldock works with his customers to create jewellery that matches their personality.

Nevertheless, Ed has a distinctive and individual style all his own, developed over 40 years in the jewellers workshop.

As he explains: "My current personal interest is with small, square stones and combining them with stones that are completely the opposite in terms of shape and colour."

For example, Ed places a Diamond alongside highly polished Haematite beads, which can be metallic grey or black. These stones are then set on 18ct white gold creating a distinctive and arresting effect.

Although most pieces are made as single items, they all lend themselves to become sets of rings, necklaces, brooches, ear-rings & pendants, which can be made all at one time or at a piece at a time for anniversaries, birthdays and Christmas.

"In doing this I feel it gives more meaning and importance to owning and wearing jewellery designed for social occasions," he said.

Other recent themes Ed has employed include a remarkable range based upon Roman and Medieval armour and Byzantine shapes.
